The Line Skis Blade and Blade W are superb, fun skis and a real break from the norm.

Line has smashed the smile-ometer with the Blade women’s and men’s planks.

Unique construction ideas and Line’s infectiously fun approach to skiing brings a smile to your face. The Blade and Blade W really make you want to hit the slopes everyday, looking for terrain to have fun with. Even though they’re quite wide they deliver plenty of grip. Also, that wide shovel gives plenty of lift if you head into softer stuff.

Video transcript

I’ve just been trying the new Line Blade. This is a really interesting ski.

It’s the first time Line have produced a more piste focussed ski.

It’s obviously very wide through the shovel. It hasn’t got a specific sidecut to the ski, they just say it’s got a tight side cut.

Just really interesting construction so it’s got a lot of reinforcement through here, but then through the middle of the ski that is completely decoupled to the rear of the ski and you can feel that underfoot. It really feels very easy to flex, really nice touch with the snow, not quite what I was expecting really, because it’s such a wide ski but on the piste it was really good fun for long turns. Just that you can really feel the ski bending underneath you, it’s a real unique sensation to it and then once we got into the deeper snow, again obviously that wide shovel and really soft tip and tail made it very, very easy to steer and great fun.

Unique is the word for this ski, it feels quite different to other skis we’ve tested in this category and it was just great fun both on and off piste.
